Hey, domainer!

Do they find You on Google?

People use on line web search engines to find relevant websites that publish text, pictures, movies etc. Or they offer on line services such as purchases of goods and services.

When keywords are typed into the search string box, the search engine opens a page with a list of websites that contain one or more of the keywords.

This list of websites is called Search Engine Result, and the place of a website in the list is the Search Engine Result Position of that website: The SERP.

As an example, the keyword couple Scientific Appraisal returns a list with in top the message: Results 1 - 10 from about 5.230.000 for scientific appraisal (0,25 seconds).

The domain ScientificAppraisals.com appears in SERP #3 from over  5 million positions. Does this mean that some 5,000,000 domains/websites listed after the Top 25 results might never be seen at all?  Who knows ...

In order to have a website listed higher on the Search Engine Result, it takes Search Engine Optimalisation: SEO. There are many companies offering SEO.

SERP is absolutely paramount, because people tend to look only in the first 10 to 50 domains/websites listed in the search result.

The higher a website is positioned on the list, the more it is probable that somebody will not look further in the list if that web has relevant content.

A website in top position 5 is more likely to be visited than the ones lower in the list, unless the brief description given appeals more. But anyway, the SERP is most important.

Since Google.com is considered by many Internet users to be the most important search engine, this publication is about Google. However, the principles are the same for all search engines.

To find the Google dot com SERP of a domain, type the domain keywords in the search box of the search box on GOOGLE.com on the website of GOOGLE - and do a World Wide Web Search - Nothing else. Since most people look as broad as possible (that is the whole web) it is important to get listed in the broadest results.

If the domain appears high up in the Search Engine Result Position, then it probably will be estimated valuable be most interested people.

It may be considered even more valuable if the domain is related to the current website.

Make no mistake. Whatever people way, the better the SERP of a domain, the more likely people will visit it.
